Welcome to The Booch Bar in the heart of downtown Hilo — delectable, nourishing food made from the finest local and organic ingredients, with our own craft beer, Big Island Booch kombucha and Jun poured fresh from the tap. To your health!
Farm-fresh, local, and organic — vegan, vegetarian, paleo, and gluten-free friendly, without skimping on flavor.
House-made craft beer, kombucha (n/a and hard) and Jun, organic nitro cold brew, craft cocktails and more.
In-house, cured, smoked and sustainably sourced.
Everything we do comes back to three things: recipes worth keeping, ingredients grown close to home, and a community we care about. We create only with olive, avocado, and coconut oils — never seed oil.
Many of our recipes have been years in the making — from our small-batch Big Island Booch kombucha (n/a and hard) and Jun to house-made smoked meats, krauts, cashew cheeses, lentil-walnut chorizo, and sauces. We blend island ingredients with global flavors and a fermenter's love of living food, so every plate carries a little of our story.
We source as close to home as we can: Hamakua-grown Ali'i mushrooms, wild-caught Hawaiian fish, pasture-raised Big Island beef, Sun Dog Bakery sourdough, and island-grown produce. Fresh, organic, and local isn't a trend for us — it's just how living food should be.
More than a restaurant, The Booch Bar is a gathering place in the heart of downtown Hilo. Come in for breakfast, linger over a booch flight, or book the Rainbow Room for live music, workshops, and community events. Come as you are — there's a seat and a plate here for everyone.
